Network (MWiB)

Although we are not meeting curently, at St. John’s, Network is a monthly meeting open to everyone. We are associated with the Methodist Women in Britain (MWiB) but retain our title, Network, as we encourage men to join us!

We usually meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month, except for December when we meet on an earlier Tuesday to avoid the Christmas rush. There are no meetings in January and February. We have a varied programme of speakers, social activities and outings. We might have a talk by a member, see a slideshow of somebody’s holiday trip, hold a Beetle drive or share our favourite poem/book/piece of music.

Outings include visits to garden centres, craft centres, farm shops, museums or town centres.

Some of us visited the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm and obviously enjoyed it!

We also have garden visits, sometimes with afternoon tea included.

Meetings held at church start at 2pm, open with a brief time of worship, continue with our speaker’s presentation, and close with tea and biscuits. Members volunteer to lead the meeting and serve the refreshments. For outings we meet at St. John’s at an earlier time, usually 1.30pm, and travel by car. Each meeting is advertised in the Newsletter and Pew News. New members are always welcome.
